Ready for SB 553? Creating a Workplace Violence Prevention Program

-

This session focused on California Senate Bill 553, which went into effect on July 1, 2024, and the critical steps employers must now take to prevent and respond to workplace violence. Attendees gained a clear understanding of the new requirements, including the importance of having a documented, actionable workplace violence prevention and response plan in place.

We were honored to welcome Robin Welch as our keynote speaker. Drawing from her experience at the CIA and Google, Robin provided practical insights into threat awareness, preparedness, and organizational response—bridging policy requirements with real-world application.

The discussion reinforced a shared priority across our community: creating safer, more resilient workplaces through proactive planning, training, and informed leadership.
